He’s Manny the Frenchie… as in the Manny the French,  sink-sleeping bulldog.

Since April 11 is officially National Pet Day., the Chicago-based Internet canine sensation is marking the occasion right here in town.

The pet-friendly Kinzie Hotel in River North is welcoming  Manny the Frenchie  for a special two-hour event on Friday where your  dog can get his or her photo taken with the celebrity canine. From noon to 2 p.m., you and your for-legged pal can partake in the meet-and-greet in the hotel’s lobby, 20 W. Kinzie.

Never heard of Manny, you say? According to a 2013 Huffington Post article, “Passed over for the pick of the litter and sold at a discount price, a Chicago-based French bulldog named Manny the Frenchie has gone from overlooked to overnight sensation in a matter of months. The beloved pet has become the world’s most web-famous French bulldog by eclipsing the popularity of Trotter, the “hipster French Bulldog” and popping up in all corners of the Internet. [He] … has  a fondness for taking naps in the bathroom sink — has the kind of face that inspires (two) Buzzfeed listicles, White Sox fans, Audi promotions and even Martha Stewart.”
